Lindos
Lindos is described as the jewel in the crown of Rhodes and you only need to visit once to really understand why. This is a magical village that captures the heart of everyone who sets foot on her cobbled streets. Whitewashed sugar cubed houses, a maze of winding streets, golden sandy beaches meet clear azure blue seas and white chapels sit proudly beneath the awesome ancient acropolis. With relics and monuments dating back to the 4th Century BC and many Captains Houses from the wealthy sea merchant days from the 17th century, the history of Lindos comes alive at every street corner.
Fresh seafood Tavernas fringe the beaches where you can dine at the water's edge. Restaurants on rooftops, traditional Greek tavernas, fine dining and simple meze combining the influences of cuisine across the world will simply tantalise your taste buds. Trendy cocktail bars, music and sports bars offer something for everyone whether it's a romantic night out or dancing on the tables. Lindos - a love affair that starts with sandy toes and salty kisses and soon your heart is entangled in a lifetime of liaisons.
Beaches
Lindos has 3 sandy beaches – the main beach and Pallas beach which share the same bay and St Pauls bay which is home to the chapel of the same name and a popular spot for weddings in Lindos. There are 2 small beaches in St Pauls, one close to the village and the other by the chapel.
Spread out your towel on the warm sand or hire a sunbed and umbrella and enjoy a good holiday read, listen to the sounds of the sea or your favourite tunes. Swim or snorkel in the crystal clear blue waters and sample the fantastic food in one of the many beachfront tavernas.
Enjoy the stroll downhill and stop at the top of the cobbled pathway leading to Pallas Beach and take in the breathtaking views. For a less ‘breath taking' walk back up the hill, you may prefer to take a Lindos taxi, the donkey.
Lindos Regions
Lindos is divided into 4 different areas as development around the old village has spread over the years. Orginally accommodation was only to be found in the old village where houses date back to the 17th century. Regular visitors to Lindos still prefer to stay in the heart of the village and experience true Lindian living. The upper region of Lindos is known as Krana and here you will find plenty of aparthotels with swimming pools which make a great base for your summer holiday and yet still within walking distance of the village. The area north of Lindos is Vlicha Bay and here you will find some fabulous 4 and 5 star hotels plus lots of luxury villas with pools, many with outstanding seaviews. A wide sweeping beach with watersports and a few seafront tavernas make this a popular location. The area south of Lindos is known as Psaltos or Navarone Bay and is also very popular with villas with pools along with two excellent 5 star hotels on the beach and a great family run 4 star hotel. Each area has its own charm and if you're not sure what to choose, then please just ask and we will be more than happy to offer advice to find the right option for you.
