Pefkos

Nestled at the foot of pine clad hills, Pefkos is a modern resort which sits at the edge of a glorious sandy beach with stunning views southwards along the coastline. Pefkos (or Pefki) comes from the word for pine trees and the fragrance of the trees hangs in the air along with the mediterranean blooms of bougainvillea and jasmine.

The main beach road also has plenty to offer and the main beach is absolutely stunning with soft sand backed by the cliffs and with 4 seafront tavernas. The main beach is known as Lee beach and you will also find the smaller Kavos bay to the north and St Thomas Beach to south. En route from Pefkos to Lardos is the lovely Plakia beach which is a popular retreat with the locals with its clear waters, golden sands and lovely beach taverna

Most of the accommodation are family run aparthotels, designed by familes for families. There is also a selection of luxury private villas for the more discerning traveller and some simple Greek studios set close to the beach or amongst the olive and lemon groves. Less than 5km south of Lindos makes Pefkos a great place to enjoy more modern accommodation and then visit the ancient sites and colourful old village for which Lindos is renowned.
